The Recombobulaters

Hello and welcome!
We are Lydia and Chris, the Recombobulaters, or as our great friend Shera called us, LydiChris (like ludicrous, and if you know Chris it makes sense).
What are Recombobulaters, you ask? It was a funny, semi-made-up word we heard and thought it should apply to our lives, or at least where we felt our lives were and what we wanted to do with the rest of them:
Recombobulate (verb): To restore order, composure, or functionality after a period of confusion, chaos, or disarray; to put oneself or something back together in a humorous or lighthearted way.
After working for lots-o-years (see the gray hair on Chris?) and feeling pretty discombobulated after Covid, we decided to try and Recombobulate everything...maybe not restore order so much as add some direction to the chaos. And have some fun, see the world and make some memories along the way.
So, we sold our house, 99% of our belongings and retired from work in late 2024 to start seeing the world full-time...or at least until the money runs out!
We hope this gives a glimpse into our travels, including the beauty and the ugly, the wandering and the mishaps, as we live out of suitcases and backpacks full-time...here goes!!!

Saying goodbye
In January, we said goodbye to St. Louis, after 25 years. The hardest part was leaving friends and family but the severe cold (see snow in pics) made the timing really NICE!

So it begins...

What an amazing place!
